George Mason University FAIRFAX, VA
This 143,000, five-story building is to be located on the north side of the main campus of George Mason University located in Fairfax, Virginia. The project is a build to suit 133,000 square foot office and classroom space to support the university and 10,000 square feet of future retail tenant space. The project design goal is a LEED Silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council for New Construction. The mechanical system consisted of chilled water VAV air handling units served by the campus chilled water and high-temperature hot water systems. A dedicated outside air unit with heat recovery was provided for ventilation. The electrical design consisted of a 2000 amp, 480-volt electrical service with a 250 kW emergency generator.
