SSA Data Center CONFIDENTIAL LOCATION
Funded by the American Investment and Recovery Act 2009, SSA built the new National Support Center (NSC). KTA is a member of the design-build team that brought this design excellence project to successful completion. The facility is engineered to an enhanced Tier III Uptime certified level with a LEED Gold Certification. The facility was engineered in REVIT metric to create a complete Building Information Model (BIM). Infrastructure is designed to an enhanced Tier III level of reliability and be certified by the Uptime Institute. The mechanical system consists of a centrifugal chilled water system with variable frequency drives on the chiller, a heat recovery chiller, and low static high efficiency fans. A VAV chilled water air handling system is provided for the warehouse and office areas. Through the use of the efficient mechanical system, storm water reclamation, water efficient fixtures, waterless landscaping and a 30% reduction in energy below ASHRAE 90.1 LEED Gold Certification will be obtained. Design will be modular and scalable able to expand into full 10MW capacity without affecting existing operations. Medium voltage generators and UPS systems are utilized for energy efficiency and Initial Life Cycle cost analysis indicates an anticipated PUE of 1.35.
